Well, the opportunity is there for teams to experience the ultimate tournament at one of the 12 selected Rugby World Cup venues.
Today, marks the launch of the inaugural SW Rugby 7s, which will take place over the weekend of July 10-12 here in Exeter.
Backed by both the Rugby Football Union and Aviva Premiership side Exeter Chiefs, the new two-day tournament will bring together not only teams love for one of the best sports in the world, but at the same time allow them to take in what promises to be an action-packed weekend in the heart of the Westcountry.
Running alongside the final leg of the European Grand Prix Sevens Series at Sandy Park, the SW Rugby 7s is open to all and will offer both Elite and Social teams the chance to battle it out for glory at the home of the region’s Premier Rugby Club.
With Early Bird Booking available for just £250 per team, which includes 10 passes for the European Grand Prix 7s, you can add to your weekend exploits by taking up the option of our Camping Package for £600 or even splash out on our VIP Camping Package for £1,000 at the nearby Crealy Meadows.
As well as the SW Rugby 7s and European GP Sevens action, players can look forward to a host of other off-field activities, including live bands and DJs; Festival Village, Sports and additional entertainment.
Working in conjunction with a number of leading partners, prize-money on offer for the Elite Men’s and Women’s competition is £250 cash, whilst winners of the Social Men and Women’s Tournament will be rewarded with a £100 Bar Tab at Sandy Park.
A ‘Touch’ tournament will also be taking place, with £100 cash and £150 Bar Tab as the prize. With regular and free shuttle services running from accommodation areas to the playing venues, the SW Rugby 7s really is the event for you this summer.
